What to Expectምን እንደሚጠብቅዎ
Worship in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is reverent, beautiful, and ancient. You will hear chanting and hymns, see the procession of the Holy Cross, and experience prayer that has been offered for over 1,600 years. Don't worry if everything is unfamiliar — simply observe, pray, and let the worship draw you in. A member is usually available near the entrance to help newcomers. በኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ቤተ ክርስቲያን አምልኮ የተከበረ፣ ውብና ጥንታዊ ነው። ዝማሬና መዝሙር ይሰማሉ፣ የቅዱስ መስቀል ሰልፍ ያያሉ፣ ከ1,600 ዓመታት በላይ የተሰገደ ጸሎት ይለማመዳሉ። ሁሉም አዲስ ቢሆንም አይጨነቁ — ይመልከቱ፣ ይጸልዩ። በመግቢያው አቅራቢያ አዲስ መጤዎችን የሚረዳ አባል ይኖራል።

Much of the service is sung or chanted. People stand, bow, and pray.አብዛኛው አገልግሎት በዝማሬ ነው። ሰዎች ይቆማሉ፣ ይሰግዳሉ፣ ይጸልያሉ።
Shoes Removedጫማ ማውለቅ
As a sign of reverence, shoes are removed before entering the sanctuary.ለክብር ምልክት ወደ መቅደሱ ከመግባት በፊት ጫማ ይወለቃል።
Seatingአቀማመጥ
Men and women traditionally stand on separate sides. Seating is available for elders.በባህሉ ወንዶችና ሴቶች በተለያየ ጎን ይቆማሉ። ለአረጋውያን መቀመጫ አለ።

👗 Dress Guidance👗 የአለባበስ መመሪያ
Modest, respectful attire is appreciated. Women traditionally cover their hair with a white shawl (netela); a head covering is available to borrow if you'd like one. There is no strict requirement for visitors — come as you are able, dressed modestly.ጨዋና የተከበረ አለባበስ ይመረጣል። ሴቶች በባህሉ ጸጉራቸውን በነጭ ነጠላ ይሸፍናሉ፤ ከፈለጉ የሚዋስ ሻሽ አለ። ለጎብኚዎች ጥብቅ ግዴታ የለም።

The Divine Liturgy is celebrated in Ge'ez (the ancient liturgical language) with preaching and announcements in Amharic. English summaries and guidance are provided to help newcomers follow along.ቅዳሴው በግዕዝ ይከበራል፣ ስብከትና ማስታወቂያ በአማርኛ ይሆናል። አዲስ መጤዎች እንዲከታተሉ የእንግሊዝኛ ማብራሪያ ይሰጣል።

Free on-site parking is available, with additional street parking nearby. Please arrive a few minutes early on major feast days, as the lot fills quickly.ነፃ የመኪና ማቆሚያ አለ፣ በአቅራቢያውም ተጨማሪ የመንገድ ማቆሚያ አለ። በታላላቅ በዓላት ቀደም ብለው ይምጡ።
⏱️ Service Length⏱️ የአገልግሎት ርዝመት
The full Sunday Liturgy can last around 3 hours. You are welcome to come for any portion — many visitors arrive for the latter part of the Liturgy and the sermon. Feel free to step out quietly if needed.ሙሉ የእሁድ ቅዳሴ ወደ 3 ሰዓት ይፈጃል። ለማንኛውም ክፍል መምጣት ይችላሉ — ብዙ ጎብኚዎች ለቅዳሴው የኋለኛ ክፍልና ለስብከቱ ይመጣሉ።

Children are always welcome in worship. Sunday School (Sebeka Gubae youth program) runs alongside the Liturgy, teaching faith, language, and hymns.ልጆች ሁሌም በአምልኮ እንኳን ደህና መጡ። ሰንበት ትምህርት ቤት ከቅዳሴው ጎን ለጎን ይካሄዳል።
